- Tomato - 1 (sliced into rounds)
- Onion - 1 (sliced into rounds)
- Cucumber - 1 (sliced into rounds, optional)
- Lettuce or cabbage leaves - 2-3
- Mayonnaise - 2-3 tbsp
- Tomato ketchup - 2 tbsp
- Mustard sauce - 1 tbsp (optional)
- Cheese slices - 2-3 (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare Paneer / Cheese Patties:
Make the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine crumbled paneer, mashed potatoes, cornflour (or breadcrumbs), green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, coriander leaves, red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
- Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 2-3 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty, slightly larger than the burger bun, as they may shrink slightly when cooked.
- Cook the Patties: Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan. Fry the patties on medium heat until golden and crispy on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side). Alternatively, you can shallow fry or bake them. Place cooked patties on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
2. Prepare Burger Buns:
- Slice the burger buns in half horizontally.
- Heat a tawa or flat pan, spread a little butter, and toast the buns lightly on both sides until golden and crispy.
3. Assemble the Burger:
- Bottom Bun: Spread 1 tbsp mayonnaise and a little tomato ketchup on the bottom half of the bun. Add a drizzle of mustard sauce if using.
- Add Veggies: Place a lettuce or cabbage leaf on the sauced bun. Add slices of tomato, onion, and cucumber (if using).
- Paneer Patty: Place a cooked paneer patty on top of the veggies.
- Cheese (Optional): Add a cheese slice on top of the patty. If you want melted cheese, you can briefly heat the patty with the cheese on the pan.
- Top Bun: Spread a little mayonnaise and ketchup on the inner side of the top bun, then place it over the patty and press gently.
4. Serve:
- Serve the burger hot immediately.
- Pair with French fries, a side salad, or a cold drink for a complete meal.
Tips:
- For Crispy Patties: Coat the patties in breadcrumbs or cornflour before frying for extra crunch.
- Flavor Boost: Mix some garlic powder or mixed herbs into the mayonnaise for added flavor.
- Healthy Option: Use whole wheat or multigrain buns and bake the patties instead of frying.
- Sauce Variations: Try barbecue sauce, chipotle mayo, or green chutney for a different twist.
